Myford Super 7 Hi, complete novice with lathes, I have come into possession of a 1967 used Super 7 lathe, to carry it out of its current location I am trying to remove the motor from the back, eventually got the pin out that is inside the pulley wheel on the motor spindle and the two grub screws from the pulley, but the motor spindle will not come out of the pulley, is there something that i am missing here? any help or ideas would be grateful

The pulley wheels are usually a very tight fit on the shafts.

You could try some GENTLE heat on the pulley, not the shaft, this will expand the pulley and enable getting off a little easier. Could also try a gear puller? |
